Tower Christian School Trumpeteer Never Ending Story

Episode 7 - September 2008

Continued by Katherine Elder

When I looked at Anton again, his expression was nothing like it had been before…

I had never seen Anton look afraid before, but now I did. He looked so afraid that I had to take a step backward. He suddenly turned and ran the same direction as the car.

“Wait up!” I yelled after him, but he didn’t even hesitate. I took off after him, but he had too much of a head start to catch up to him. I stopped to catch my breath. I had never run that far before. When I regained my breath, I looked at where I was. I had never been on this side of town before. I didn’t like it. I turned to go home when I realized I didn’t even know how to get to where we were dropped off. I looked around for someone to ask for directions, but the street was deserted. If I could find a pay phone, I could call my dad, but I didn’t see one. I stood, wavered, took a step, and collapsed. After a little bit, I started back the way I came. After twenty minutes of walking, I found a pay phone. I quickly put my coins in and dialed home. It rang twice, and then my dad answered.

“Hello.”

“Dad. It’s me.”

“Where are you? I’ll pick you up.”

I located the sign and told him. I didn’t have to wait long before he came. When I got home, I rested for a while. When I had enough strength, I went to Anton’s house. When I knocked, no one answered. I decided to look in the windows. When I got to the living room’s window, I looked in. What I saw made me realized that something more than what had happened at school was going on…
